Brian Slipka, Co-Founder & Chairman
Brian’s plan for a strategic, purpose-driven capital finance company came from his years of experience in the technology finance industry. He saw an opportunity and need for an innovative company offering alternative finance solutions in the capital finance market. That is why he co-founded Honour Capital. Brian created Honour Capital to serve growth-oriented businesses and to enrich the lives of the stakeholders and relevant communities. Brian is proud to define success a little differently at Honour Capital and aims to cultivate significance over success, focusing on a mission that goes beyond financial success and instead focuses on a legacy of positive impact in the communities in which Honour Capital operates.
Before founding Honour Capital, Brian served as senior vice president and senior director and head of TCF Technology Finance and led the efforts to grow TCF’s technology finance companies in the United States prior to their integration into TCF Capital Solutions at Winthrop Resources Corporation. Prior to his nearly 14 years at TCF/Winthrop, Brian held sales and leadership roles at PeopleSoft and Oracle, where he was responsible for the largest financial institution accounts, after starting his career at Ernst & Young. Brian graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Throughout his career as a senior executive, Brian began investing in numerous operating companies, eventually forming True North Equity Partners (acquisition platform). Over time, and with his own hard-earned capital, he began acquiring controlling interest in independently owned companies across varied and diverse industries. Today, the combined family of independently owned small businesses has revenues in excess of a quarter billion dollars. Thus, Brian is the very definition of “self-made”. Among these businesses are Sunbelt Business Advisors and True North Mergers & Acquisitions, where he serves as CEO.
Brian and his wife, Megan, founded the Slipka Foundation, now the True North Family Foundation, a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to education, community involvement, and character-building. Brian serves on the boards of trustees for numerous national ministries.
